Aldhelm Certificate-Faith in God's World

by Michael Ford last modified 05 Oct, 2017 10:19 AM

What is the Aldhelm Certificate? It is named after St Aldhelm, Bishop of Sherborne (born 639), who was renowned for his inspirational teaching and creativity. The course was created by Rev. Dr Stella Wood in 2012, and we have re-launched it with some additional content (see resources bottom left).

Thinking of coming along? - what’s involved

You’ll be journeying with others on the course, reflecting together on some of the fundamental questions that we face as Christian disciples. Each term consists of 10 sessions and there is flexibility in how these can be covered.  You can come along to all or any of the three terms at a cost of £15.00 per term which includes your course books. If you have attended all three and wish to receive the Certificate we just ask for a short piece of writing reflecting on what you have learnt.

The course is made up of three terms:

  • Faith in Christ
  • Faith in a scientific world
  • Faith at work

Thinking of running a course at your church?

You don’t necessarily need theological training, but you do need a passion for growing your faith and helping others to grow in theirs - learning together.

With our new Online Booking System running an Aldhelm Course has become just 1-2-3 (see below) so much easier for tutors & leaders! You can now concentrate on teaching and forget about the admin!

Step 1....complete Aldhelm New Course Setup form for putting course online and email to LDMT@salisbury.anglican.org

We will put your course online, email or post out poster(s) and flyers so you can advertise the course locally

Step 2...Tell everyone to book online

and pay their money there using a debit or credit card. If they do not have a computer/tablet/phone (or find technology difficult) please ask them to phone Adrian on 01722 411944 or send me an email to phone them, so I can book them on myself. They just need a debit card. This will avoid lots of cheques etc...and save postage too!

Before your course starts we will email you a class list and enough books to hand out on the first session.

Step 3...Before each session

Checkout the YouTube link (will be provided to you) for the session prior and lead the group .

No collecting monies, filling in registration forms etc...easy.

If you are interested in starting a group in your area or have any questions please email us on LDMT@salisbury.anglican.org
