Funding

The Aldhelm Mission Fund supports new mission initiatives and fresh expressions of church in parishes, schools and the wider community in the Diocese of Salisbury.

Red asterisk = latest updates

The Fund is intended specifically to encourage and resource creative thinking and risk-taking about new work and projects that connect the local church to the wider community but cannot be funded from local sources.

The emphasis is on supporting projects in new areas of work and providing some of the resources needed to try different types of mission in our parishes. It is not intended to be used for building projects, administrative or parish youth worker posts.

Red asteriskSince 2006, the Fund has supported over 60 local mission initiatives. Nine local mission initiatives were supported by the Aldhelm Mission Fund in 2012 alone. In addition to continuation funding for existing projects, a further £77,500 was awarded, with awards ranging from £510 to £20,000.

New projects included the St. John with St. Mary ‘Open Door’ project in Devizes, the Barford St. Martin Youth Camp, Wylye Valley Youth Group and St. Peter’s Dorchester choral bursaries.

If you are planning a new mission venture or fresh expression of church in your community, contact the Secretary on 01722 411922 or email stephen.dawson@salisbury.anglican.org to find out if the Fund can help you.

The Guidelines and Application Form can be downloaded from the grey 'Resources' box on the left. Information on other sources of mission funding can be found on the Stewardship Fundraising pages.
