First session: Literacy vs Poverty

Mothers' Union members in Sudan, Burundi and Malawi have been teaching literacy to various age groups since 2000. The material gives information about the work on the ground. It shows the children, some of the circumstances in which African people live, and the enormous benefits of the programme for the lives of those who participate.
The children are challenged to consider how volunteers travel from village to village. A bicycle is used to demonstrate. We encourage schools to hold fundraising events for the Wheels Appeal.
