Rural Ministry

A selection of rural activities that are happening in parishes

Walk West Dorset

From September 17th-2 October 2011 over 180 men and women from many denominations in the UK will serve the local churches in a mission called Walk West Dorset. Teams of 8-10 men sleeping on Village halls and mixed teams of men and women accommodated in local homes will undertake a varied programme of events organised by local churches.

We are at the final planning stages at the moment and we have already seen many blessings. Our prayer event at Eggardon hill  was inspirational and our simple communion service was very special. On one training day in Bridport some good contacts were made which are being followed up by a local church. The pub evangelism in 6 Bridport pubs was new to some but they enjoyed the experience and would do it again. We continue to pray for open doors and opportunties to share the Gospel in West Dorset.

Through Faith Missions who organise these walks are putting the finishing touches on allocating the teams to 23 mission centres including Lyme Regis, Portland, Dorchester, Beaminster, Maiden Newton, Weymouth and Bridport and outlying villages. The walk web site is at: www.walkwestdorset.co.uk
