What is Mission?
“Mission is an umbrella word which describes everything the Church is sent to do in the world: in the diocese and around the globe. Mission includes within it both evangelism and social justice, which illuminate each other in their interweavings.”
This involves following Christ in the power of the Spirit, sharing and demonstrating the good news of his kingdom. By doing this, people can be transformed into what they were originally meant to be and creation can be healed.
The Diocese of Salisbury seeks to encompass all aspects of mission in a way which best reflects the Glory of God, especially those identified in the Five Marks of Mission.

A Mission Council has been formed to support and resource the work of mission in the Diocese. The Bishop of Sherborne, Dr Graham Kings, is the member of Bishop’s staff chairing the Mission Council. More here.
