The Department offers building surveying and other technical services to Church-related organisations at commercial rates of fee and commission.
At present the main clients’ property comprises Church of England Aided Schools, School Houses, secular properties belonging to the Dean and Chapter of Salisbury Cathedral (with a further number of leased premises), Church of England Pensions Board houses, St Nicholas’ Hospital Harnham and their investment properties, together with numerous one-off projects and surveys. School building projects range in value from £2,000 to £1 million. Clients’ properties total about 220.

Planning Application: feasibility, sketch scheme, cost estimate, submission of application

Project Management: detailed design, Building Regulations consent, obtaining tenders, contract administration

Maintenance advice: building surveys, schedules of condition, advice on repair priorities.
