Advice on child protection matters and developing good practice

Advice on child protection matters and developing good practice

The Archbishops of Canterbury and York, in their forward to Protecting all God's Children said, “Our children deserve the best care and teaching the Church can provide.” (2004)

In the Diocese of Salisbury we whole-heartedly agree with this and recognise that, to help and support those giving their time to nurture children and young people within the Church, clear guidelines and advice need to be given. In order to provide this we have Diocesan Guidelines to be read in conjunction with the House of Bishops’ Protecting all God’s Children and provide training with the Diocesan Adviser for Children’s work and the Adviser for Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults. If you've wandered onto this page and think that it has nothing to do with you as your church has no children or young people, or that you don't work with children or young people – please think again.  There are many occasions when children and young people are in church.  You never know when your church may have children and young people attending on a regular basis in the future and those who work with children and young people would value your informed support.

The Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser welcomes any comments or questions on any safeguarding children and young people issues.
