God Loves a Cheerful Giver

is a diocesan resource for worship, prayer and teaching on Christian giving. You can download a copy here. We welcome comments on this resource. Offers of new materials used in parishes - that you are willing to share with others - are particularly welcome!

First Fruits (Canterbury Press 2001)

is an anthology on generosity and giving containing a wide range of material on worship and preaching.  It includes a disc containing the complete text in Microsoft Word and Rich text format.

General Resources

on the subject of stewardship, giving and finance in the church are available on a number of websites:

  • Parish Resources – material for use in preaching, teaching and leading worship, and practical advice on stewardship and giving in your church. This site also contains helpful information for PCC members on their responsibilities as charity trustees and the process for registering with the Charity Commission.
  • Stewardship - sermon notes, practical advice on family money issues such as budgeting, handling debt and borrowing and resources for young people.
  • The Money Revolution - help on applying Christian principles to handling money offering a distinctively Christian slant on issues such as ethical spending, credit and debt, savings, generosity and insurance.
