Academy Status

It is the intention of the Salisbury Diocesan Board of Education to play a key role in the development of the educational landscape, particularly the formation across the diocese of Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs).

Academy Status Header

We actively support church schools to explore MAT status which may include schools from a range of designations: Voluntary Aided, Voluntary Controlled, stand alone/sole convertor academies, community schools. Our commitment is to work with you and your local community to build a Trust that meets the needs of all children and which at Trust and governing body level, utterly protects your school's church school status.

The Board of Education has also established the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust, a family of schools built on a vision for transformational church schools at the heart of their communities.  We welcome interest from potential new joiners to the Trust. Find out much more about us on our website at www.dsat.org.uk.

The SDBE promise, whether you form a local MAT, seek to join a MAT beyond the diocese, or join DSAT, is to work with you, to honour and cherish your church school heritage; ensuring that church schools are a vital and thriving part of this country's education provision, in this decade and beyond.
