‘Thank you for being robust and honest with our schools. Your support is invaluable.’

Explanation of this aspect of our work

On occasion academies or schools have times of difficulty which impact on the achievement and wellbeing of the school community. The DBE’s schools causing concern strategy is intended to enable the Board of Education to be pro-active in identifying and working alongside these academies or schools in order to prevent crisis and promote effective school improvement. As part of this strategy the PSA provides the opportunity for school’s to purchase bespoke school improvement support to match their action plan needs. This could include, for example, self evaluation validation activities, such as lesson observations, work scrutinies, CPD for middle leaders, support with action plan writing or bespoke work from other PSA areas such as governance support.
