I Want to Speak to God, Please

Bringing together prayers written by children from schools, churches and youth groups across the diocese of Salisbury, this book is a celebration of the Year of the Child 2009. Through the words of their prayers, children aged 5 to 19 share their thankfulness, their hopes and wishes and their concern for others. Together their prayers are an inspiration and challenge to all.

When we asked children to contribute prayers, the quality, thought and depth of spirituality amazed us. We felt they needed to reach a wide audience, so this book contains a selection of the prayers along with photographs submitted by the contributors.

You knew us before we were born. 

Please guide us during the good times and the bad times.

Now that this is our time to move on.

Thank you for helping me and my Junior School.

I will leave old friends, then meet new friends.
