Dorset Religious Education
Congratulations! You have found your way to the page of the website dedicated to the teaching of Religious Education in Dorset schools. If you don't work in a Dorset School, feel free to make use of the materials here... just check they fit with your agreed syllabus first.
There is a copy of the new agreed syllabus in the 'Resources' box on the left of this page, along with the powerpoint I used at the launch of the syllabus in June 2011. Please make use of the powerpoint in your own school. There is now no scheme of work in Dorset, but there is a series of exemplars of planning. They just might fit your situation but we would normally expect you to adapt them to fit your curriculum and context. So don't be too worried about the KS they are linked to.
Many of these exemplars have been written by Dorset teachers, to whom I am very greatful. If you take and use their ideas and then share them with colleagues that would be wonderful but could please make sure you acknowledge the teachers who originated the ideas.
There are many more ideas and resources produced to support this syllabus that were sent to schools on a memory stick. Many of these, particularly those for KS3 are too large to upload on a website. If you haven't recieved them please contact me.
If you have any examples of planning that you would like to share with other teachers I would be delighted to post them on the website. Please contact me: derek.holloway@salisbury.anglican.org
Some of the resources here are quite large powerpoints, if you have problems downloading please email me and I should be able to send them to you.
If you are looking for the resources from the previous agreed syllabus, they can still be used with this syllabus. They are still available on this website: just click on this link.
Click on the headings to view the resources.
