The Diocese of Salisbury is divided into two main areas: Ramsbury and Sherborne. Each area has its own Bishop, two Archdeacons and its own Area Office.

Bishop Stephen Conway, who held the post from 2006, became Bishop of Ely on 6 Dec 2010. The process to assess whether he is replaced may begin during the vacancy in the See of Salisbury, but any decision about proceeding to an appointment will be the new Bishop of Salisbury’s.
