Who we are

The Diocese of Salisbury is a Christian community of churches, schools and chaplaincies serving one million people, stretching over 2000 square miles, from the North Wessex Downs to the Channel Islands.

We are one of the most geographically diverse Anglican diocese and for over 950 years we have been a regional presence of the Church of England.

Today, as always, we are committed to encouraging people to explore their faith, enabling individuals to flourish and grow.

Christianity is our shared, living faith, which has a long and rich history in this region. We are part of the Church of England and globally part of The Anglican Communion.
