SDBF Building Consultancy Ltd is a newly formed, wholly owned, subsidiary of the Salisbury Diocesan Board of Finance. The company currently provides property-focussed project management services primarily, but not exclusively, to schools and academies within the Diocese of Salisbury. The profit from this work is gifted to the Diocesan Board of Finance and goes towards reducing the amount of money parishes contribute funding clergy in the Diocese.

We are very successful at what we do, winning 66% of our responses to tender against a national average of 36% in 2015 and 2016, and receiving very high customer satisfaction reports.

The Diocese began offering project management services to a number of church schools nearly two decades ago. We have come a long way since then. In 2017 it was agreed to form a new trading subsidiary to give clearer oversight and direction of this work. We have a professional team of four surveyors and a part-time secretary.

We are now hoping to expand these services to other clients. To help us in this journey, we are actively looking for two new Board Members to join our board who can help us shape our strategy and deliver our new plans.

Ideally we are looking for people with commercial or business acumen, experience in commercial tendering, and delivering to those contracts. Just as importantly, we want people who are willing to support the aims of the company to provide an excellent and value for money service.

These are voluntary roles, although reasonable travel expenses will be paid, and the time commitment is up to four meetings a year, plus a conference calls and email communications if necessary between meetings. Board meetings are held at our office in Church House, Salisbury, usually during the day.
