Developing Buildings

Churches represent the spiritual and social heart of their communities. They must answer the needs of today’s society and successive generations. Increasingly, parishes are looking to adapt their churches for these needs and for wider community use.

Parishes are encouraged to seek informal advice about their ideas and proposals from their Archdeacon and the Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches (DAC) at the earliest possible opportunity.

The Archdeacons and Area Offices, the DAC, the Registrar and Chancellor all seek to help parishes achieve their aims by offering advice and support throughout the planning and faculty processes.
