Reluctant = Volunteer...
These courses continue the long tradition of supportive courses for Reluctant Organists at the RSCM's former home, Addington Palace, which took place under the inspiring tutelage of Jeannette Cooper. It is a direct tribute to her work that these courses have been continued by Robert Fielding and the team of dedicated tutors.
Tutors
Tutors on the courses will be Robert Fielding (Course Director), Richard Godfrey and Julian Haggett. All have specialist skills in understanding the problems at this level and are able to give advice on practice methods, controlling nerves, repertoire, starting to pedal, simple improvisation and a suggested scheme of work for between the courses and beyond. Many churches have supported their 'reluctant' organist by paying for the course as training and many former course members have reported on the immediate impact that this training has in the worship of that church.
