Raw quinces are unattractive, they are knobbly, hard and sour, but simmered with sugar and spices they are transformed as if by magic into the fragrant dark red paste that the Spanish call ‘membrillo’. Enjoy with manchego or any hard cheese.

Spend a day at Grove Farm House harvesting quinces and learning how to make membrillo and other quince themed goodies such as chutney and jelly to take home. Apples, blackberries and rowanberries may make an appearance too.

Sara is your hostess at Grove Farm House and is well known for her culinary skills. She enjoys Autumn with all the hunter gathering of nature`s harvest. After harvest comes preserving which is much more fun when done in company!
