** THIS COURSE HAS BEEN CANCELLED ** Tragedy and Congregations ** THIS COURSE HAS BEEN CANCELLED

What happens to a church when the roof falls in? Literally, or metaphorically through a sudden accident, an unexpected and tragic death, the disclosure of scandal or abuse. This weekend is for ministers, lay leaders and those with an interest in practical theology. Come and explore what trauma is, and what resilience might look like.

Christopher Southgate is Associate Professor in Interdisciplinary Theology at the University of Exeter and former Principal of the South West Ministry Training Course. Carla Grosch-Miller is Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Exeter. Hilary Ison is an Associate Member of the Oxford Centre for Ecclesiology and Practical Theology. Meg Warner is a Visiting Research Fellow at King’s College London.

The costs of the course and meals during the day including supper if there is an evening session are covered by the CMD budget but if you wish to be residential you will need to cover the costs of bed and breakfast and any other evening meals yourself.
