 Lay Pastoral Assistant ministry is a vocation not just a job to be done. There are three tried and tested ways of discerning if this is what God is calling you to.

  • Do you have a sense of inner call?  
  • Is this call affirmed by others?
  • Is there a need for this ministry in your church?

Participants checklist  - remember if you are being commissioned as a Lay Pastoral Assistant you need to have completed all these BEFORE the service of commissioning
  • DBS check-Enhanced Child & adult Child & adult Barring check

  • Completed a safeguarding course- C0 online plus C1 before commissioning with C2 within 6 months of commissioning
