Two New Bishops Selected

A short article about the selection of two new ECS bishops.

The Episcopal Church of Sudan's Electoral College met on Saturday (14th) in all Saints Cathedral, Juba to elect the new bishops of Bor and Lui. The candidates were as follow



Ramsey Vole Edward

Stephen Dokolo

Benjamin Wajo Yohanas 



Ruben Akurdit 

Nathaniel Bol 

The election results were as follows

Votes for Ramsey Vole Edward = 2 (2.08%)

Votes for Stephen Dokolo = 56 (58.3%)

Votes for Benjamin Wajo Yohanas = 36 (37.5%)

Spoilt ballots = 2 (2.08%)


Bor - read about the election here

Votes for Ruben Akurdit Ngong = 88 (91.7)

Votes for Nathaniel Bol = 7 (7.29%)

Spoilt ballots = 1 (1.04%)


I am very pleased to announce that the bishop-elect of Lui is Rev. Stephen Dokolo and of Bor, Rev. Ruben Akurdit. 

A Short Bio of Rev Stephen Dokolo

- Married to Lilian Stephen with children

-Theological qualifications: Bishop Alison College (for Limuru Theological diploma), Eden Seminary (Degree)

-Work experience: Diocesan Secretary

A Short Bio of Rev. Ruben Akurdit Ngong

-Born May 1956 in Palek Village, Bor County

-Married to Rachael Nyaluak with four children

-Theological Education Qualifications from: Bishop Gwynne College, Uganda Makarere University, Nairobi Pan Africa Christian College

-Work experience: school teachers, Provost of Bor Cathedral, Relief Coordinator for Bor diocese
