HM the Queen has sent a thank-you card in response to the Jubilee card sent from the Diocese.

A Queen's Thank-You

The covering letter reads,

The Queen was touched by the words of support and good wishes sent to her by the people of the Diocese of Salisbury on the occasion of Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee.

The Queen has been deeply moved by the wonderful response to her Jubilee, and is most grateful for the trouble you have taken to send her your kind message in Her Majesty's special year.

The Queen hopes you will understand that, because of the enormous number of letters, cards and messages she has received in the past few months, it has not been possible to reply until now.

The message inside the card reads,

I send you my grateful thanks for the words of loyalty and support which you have so kindly sent on the occasion of the Sixtieth Anniversary of My Accession to the Throne.
