Each morning began with Easter arts, crafts and games led by the parish team, building on twenty years' work in both St James' Church and School.

Highlights included a walking, talking tree telling the story of the cross on Good Friday and of the resurrection on Easter Sunday. The community café run by the parish was open in the afternoons, with free craft activities for children, a magician and Sammy Sunshine the clown.

Evening activities featured a Zumba dance fitness session on Wednesday and a talent night on Thursday featuring Matt Priest, drummer with chart-toppers Dodgy, singer-songwriter Jamie Easton and eleven local acts.

Take That tribute band 'Fake That' gave a sold-out concert on Friday night and family-friendly professional comedian Andy Kind entertained a crowd of over 100 on Saturday.

More than 250 adults and children enjoyed an hour-long Easter Sunday communion service followed by a children’s Easter egg search, barbecue and live music by local musician Clint Bradley.

The Revd Pip Martin, co-ordinator of reCreate, said: "Our vision at St James’ Church for reCreate was all about bringing people together so that everyone could celebrate Easter and take encouragement from its message of hope. The months of planning and preparation, supported by so many people in the community, have given our village an Easter to enjoy and remember for a very long time."

He added, "A massive thank you to all the Festival organising team – they were fantastic – and to this amazing village for supporting us in this adventure."
