Bishop of Salisbury celebrates links as Archbishop Justin begins ministry

The Bishop of Salisbury, Nicholas Holtam, said tonight (Thursday 21 March) that the welcome given to the new Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, in Canterbury Cathedral today was “wonderful” and that the prayers of the people of the Diocese of Salisbury were very much with the new Archbishop.

Bishop Holtam was amongst other representatives with Salisbury connections who attended the service.

Bishop Holtam said: “The service was a joyful celebration with people from around the Anglican Communion, including our link with the Sudan.”

He added: “The Ghanaian drums and dancers were marvellous. God bless Archbishop Justin.”
