Bishop Holtam will give an address before unveiling a plaque for the new school along with The Headteacher, Mr Ravindranath Singh Gopaul, from Beau Bassin State Secondary, QE’s partner school in Mauritius.

Bishop Holtam will then formally bless the school.

Guests include the Lord Lieutenant of Dorset, Mrs Valerie Lane-Fox Pitt-Rivers, the Chairman of Dorset County Council, John Wilson, Annette Brooke MP and a delegation of three teachers and four girls from Beau Bassin.

The event will take place during a normal teaching day, giving guests an opportunity to see the school in action.

Bishop Holtam said: “Children and young people are at the heart of the Church’s mission, so I am delighted that these wonderful new buildings will lift the spirits and enhance the self-worth of each one of its pupils. I hope that the new Queen Elizabeth’s will be a hub for the whole of Wimborne, strengthening the community here and offering a window to the wider world through its links overseas.”

Headteacher Andy Puttock added: “To open a new school of this fantastic quality is a dream come true. To have honoured guests in the Bishop and our friends from Mauritius makes it even better; it is a visible statement of our commitment to our links with the Church, and our belief that education is about making a difference to the lives of young people, not only in our own school but across the world. We are incredibly privileged to have this amazing new facility and have committed ourselves to never taking that privilege lightly.”
