Three schools in our diocese have recently received 'double outstandings' in Ofsted and SIAS inspections.

Celebrating Schools

Pupils from Winsley CE VC Primary School

Lulworth and Winfrith First School, Sandford St Martin’s First School and Winsley CE VC Primary School are all delighted with their results.

Simon White, Head of Winsley, said "The thing we're most proud of is that inspectors saw that the children really care for each other, and their personal development is really outstanding."

School inspections are crucial not only to how a school is perceived, but also to how it is run. A good inspection creates a benchmark to maintain as well as a sense of pride.

Ofsted inspections are performed by Government inspectors seeking to rigorously improve all services offered to children and young people.

SIAS inspections are performed in conjunction with the National Society which has been celebrating its 200th anniversary in 2011. They seek to establish the extent to which church schools (not faith schools) are "distinctively and recognisably Christian institutions".
