The first Harnham Worm Charming Competition proved a great success and a real mission opportunity.

Over 140 people came along and enjoyed worm themed stalls, a talk on the benefits of worms to the world, a live band and 20 minutes of worm charming to see who could charm the most from the ground.

Among those attending was Bishop Nicholas, who was one of the Worm Charming Judges.

The fundraising event, held in Harnham Parish Hall and Field wasb organised to raise money for the Parish Hall Transformation.

The Revd Becky Roberts said:

"It was a brilliant evening, with people really engaging in the spirit of worm charming: costumes, conga, and all sorts of contraptions to draw the worms out of the ground!"
