The Bishop of Malakal, Hilary Garang, has invited Dr Kings to lead a week's clergy refresher course on Mission Theology and Bible study. Dr Kings will also visit the Archbishop of Sudan, Dr Daniel Deng.

Dr Kings was interviewed in Salisbury last week by the Bishop of Kajo-Keji, Anthony Poggo. He said: “Being a Bishop has opened up all sorts of avenues that I never knew would happen. I enjoy sharing the good news with a whole range of people who wouldn’t normally come to church.”

Speaking of Bishop Garang’s invitation, he said, “I am delighted to accept Bishop Hilary's invitation. Until recently he has been chair of their theological commission. We’re going to be doing Bible study together on mission with his clergy from Genesis right through to Revelation. I am looking forward to learning new insights on Scripture from South Sudan."

The visit forms part of this year’s 40th anniversary celebrations of the Salisbury-Sudan Link.
