Holy Week, out of the box

by Michael Ford last modified 09 Apr, 2020 12:45 PM

Holy Week has always been a time when schools and families have come together to tell the Easter story in words, music and crafts.

Across the Diocese children's workshops and Collective Worship continue, but like everything else they are being done differently this year.

The Revd Philip Bromiley, Team Rector from the Avon River Team has been producing Collective Worship videos for Holy Week.

He posted on social media to say he was "Delighted" that the videos are being used in the local primary and at home.

The Revd Jo Haine from St Mary's Weymouth posted a video on Facebook with her family to tell her community about a great resource called Holy Week in a Box.

The Holy Week in a Box gives a Bible reading and a craft activity each day as families travel together to the cross and beyond.

Meanwhile, workshop packs and a Zoom link are allowing families at St John's Tisbury to join in virtual Children's Easter Holiday workshops, and families are invited to share the Easter story in worship crafts, Easter bakes, music, and activity ideas - all from the comfort of their own homes.

The message from the Revd Jo Naish and Revd Elaine Brightwell from the Nadder Valley Churches is:

"We are still here and we are still growing!"
