This week work begins on a £453,000 refurbishment project, in a former Royal British Legion Club purchased by Amesbury Parochial Church Council.

New Facilities for Amesbury

Simon Wilkinson, Vicar of Amesbury, hands the keys to Michael Chapman (contractor) and Tony Inman (architect)

The parish aims to provide a large hall, meeting room, office, youth club and kitchen for the people of Amesbury.

In the past 15 months, over £333,000 has been raised through grants, donations, and fundraising activities. £60,000 was received on a single Gift Day.

The Vicar, Canon Simon Wilkinson, sees it as an opportunity to serve both the parish and the community.

He said today, "It has been a roller-coaster spiritually and emotionally, but we have seen answers to our prayers and so much support from the local community, individuals and grant making bodies. This is good news for Amesbury as a whole."
