Oh, Christmas Tree

by ajack last modified 02 Dec, 2021 04:34 PM

Christmas trees are a great mission and outreach opportunity. And churches all over the Diocese are using them to get involved with the local community, from helping to decorate a single tree, holding a Christmas Tree Festival, to decorating churches, what have you got planned this year?

The famous St Thomas's Church Christmas Tree festival is back - and there’s still time to get involved!

The hugely popular Christmas Tree Festival has returned after a two-year absence, and sees over 100 trees on display, decorated by local charities, schools and community organisations. Refreshments are served and there is a full and varied programme of musical entertainment as well as craft workshops, such as wreath and table decoration making.

Although a fun, festive activity, the festival aims to raise funds for nominated local charities. This year The Children’s Society and Wessex Stoma Support Group are the featured local causes.

Speaking about the event, organiser, John Cox, said:

"For the thousands who come, the festival is a highlight of the season. We spread a lot of joy and all in a good cause."

The St Thomas’s Church Christmas Tree festival is free to enter, and open until Sunday 5 December. Find out more at:
