The Principal of Sarum Academy, Ruth Johnson

Local architects Cube Design Ltd have created innovative designs for classrooms, a 330-seat theatre, workshop facilities for motor mechanics, and even a hair and beauty salon. The existing sports hall will be wrapped with the new facilities and the existing reception building will be fully refurbished to provide accommodation as a new sixth form centre.

The build is due to be completed for the start of term in September 2013. Contractors McAlpine will remain on site until January 2014 to safely demolish the old buildings and complete the landscaping.

Mrs Johnson said, “This is an historic moment for this community and we look forward to the amazing educational opportunities the new academy building will bring.”
