Salisbury solicitor is the new Diocesan Registrar and Legal Secretary to the Bishop

Sue de Candole, who has been acting Diocesan Registrar for the Diocese since the sudden death of Andrew Johnson earlier in the year, has now been appointed Diocesan Registrar for Salisbury and Legal Secretary to the Bishop of Salisbury with immediate effect.

Ms de Candole has been a solicitor with Batt Broadbent in Salisbury since 1997, having trained at Lincoln’s Inn. She is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and is a trustee of a number of family trusts and three charitable trusts.

Announcing the appointment, the Right Revd Nicholas Holtam, Bishop of Salisbury, said, “I am delighted to confirm Sue’s appointment to these vital roles on behalf of the Diocese and on my behalf. She and her team worked with exemplary professionalism and skill to keep the Registry functioning as normal after Andrew’s death. She will continue to serve the Diocese and the Bishop in that same way. I very much look forward to working with her and the excellent Registry team.”
