Over 60 lay and ordained members of rural churches gathered at Kingston Maurward College to share ideas and network during the Sherborne’s Rural Day last Saturday.
Seven new canons were admitted to Salisbury Cathedral’s College of Canons at the invitation of Bishop Stephen on 4 October, during Evensong. The canons were the first to be installed since Bishop Stephen began his work in the diocese.
Bishop Stephen spoke to Matthew Price on BBC Jersey this past Sunday where he shared his thoughts about the Deanery of Jersey formally becoming part of the Diocese, with the Deanery of Guernsey closely following suit.
Today the Diocese received the publication of the Past Cases Review 2 (PCR2) national report on the Church of England, along with feedback from our local PCR2 inspection.

Diocesan Synod gathered on Saturday 24 September for the day. Gillian Clarke, Chair of House of Laity, has shared about their time together.
Despite the great sadness of the Queen’s death less than four days beforehand, the new Bishop of Salisbury honoured his pledge to lead the Cannings and Redhorn Team 11.00am service at Urchfont on Sunday 12 September.
Last Sunday a special service was held to celebrate the longstanding verger ministry of Clive Cherrett, who has served at Lady St Mary church Wareham for the past 36 years.
During Evensong on Tuesday 4 October, seven new canons are to be installed as members of Salisbury Cathedral’s College of Canons at the invitation of Bishop Stephen.
