The purpose of this event was to give an update to those attending but also to consult on what action we need to take to achieve the objectives which have been agreed by the Diocese Bishops Council.
For your information the objectives are:
· To deliver high quality, effective training that meets the requirements set out by the National Safeguarding Training and Development Practice Guidance (January 2017) in accordance with the Diocesan three year safeguarding training plan.
· To support Parishes in their efforts to implement effective safeguarding and safer recruitment policies and practices.
· To implement a management records system for DBS and training that gives the Diocese and Parishes confidence that all personnel (paid and volunteer) meet the requirements of the Diocesan Safeguarding policy.
· To promote a culture in the Diocese where Safeguarding is recognised as integral to providing a safe and caring environment for everyone.
