Survivor Care and Support

by sfutch last modified 15 Jul, 2021 11:04 PM

There may be many reasons why you have not spoken out before. It can feel overwhelming and frightening, but it can also be the first step towards support, healing and recovery. You are not to blame for what happened to you.

You will be heard, be supported and have your concerns taken seriously no matter how recent or long ago and regardless of where the abuse took place. It is your choice who you share your experience with. Within your local church or Parish you may wish to speak to your Parish Safeguarding Officer or a member of the clergy. You may chose instead to contact one of the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisors or one of the organisations listed below.

The Diocese of Salisbury supports national guidance and the following information should be read in conjunction with the Church of England practice guidance ‘Responding Well to those who have been sexually abused’ (2011). We work in partnership with external services that specialise in supporting survivors and victims who have experienced abuse and who can help develop a programme of support and care that is centred around their needs.
