Dancing Up a Storm at W&B

by Michael Ford last modified 29 Aug, 2014 02:50 PM

Pupils and staff recently took part in the Wilton & Barford Annual Dance Day.

The day started with a mass playground Move It warm up, with parents and staff joining pupils for Gangnam skips and 'Moves Like Jagger' struts.

The girls experienced Latin American Strictly Come Dance Style choreography and the boys created their own Street Dance Style Moves. The Nursery class danced to an 'Under the Sea' theme.

DanceLady Caroline Newman says, "I always have a fab time at W&B, I find the children so willing to learn and give new experiences a go. The Dance Days are so rewarding: it’s good to see healthy active children enjoying themselves."

She added, "Recently there has been a lot of media coverage about inactive children and not engaging enough in strenuous activities. That can’t be said for the pupils of Wilton and Barford! The DanceLady hopes to do more sessions in the future."
