Geography Comes Alive

by Michael Ford last modified 09 Mar, 2016 01:22 PM

Pupils from Sarum Academy headed off to the Netherlands for a Geography trip during the recent school holidays.

During their 4 day visit they spent time in both Rotterdam and Amsterdam, considering geographical topics such different industries, sustainable energy sources, and tourism.

Their busy itinerary included visiting the Delta Park Neelte, the Clara Maria Cheese Farm and Clog Factories, Rotterdam Harbour, the Van Gogh museum, and the Zaanse Schans Windmill Village.

Jenna Burrows, Curriculum Team Leader for Geography said, "The pupils behaved fantastically throughout and were complimented on their behaviour by a number of different people. Their knowledge gained has already been put to good use with some pupils using it in their Year 11 mocks."

15 year old Rosie Traies-Walker, who has never been abroad before, said "Going to the Netherlands was brilliant! My favourite bit was going to the cheese factory and the cheese was so delicious."

Sophie Devine, also aged 15 commented, "I enjoyed learning all about the dams stopping the flooding and the scenery was fantastic."
