Hello from Lindy Cameron

by Michael Ford last modified 03 Oct, 2014 10:31 AM

Dear all: I have been asked to introduce myself, so here goes!

Since June 2014, I have been covering some of Lizzie Whitbread’s work as the Diocesan Youth Advisor. I love engaging with people and I find myself particularly drawn to young people. My whole career has been one of working with those from zero to early twenties.

I have worked extensively on a volunteer basis leading various groups and projects. I really enjoy leading services and assisting with communion, drawing together young and old as one Church family.

I am also part of SOMA (Sharing Of Ministries Abroad) and I will be out on my fifth mission trip with them in December 2014. I serve as one of their intercessor coordinators.

My last post was a paid one as a Youth Minister in Swanage and now I have the privilege of working in two part time jobs. One as the Youth Development Worker for a community project called ‘Not Just Sundaes’ in Wareham and as a Consultant Youth Advisor for the Diocese.

I am really enjoying both as I get to work with the Diocesan Education Centre, parishes, the local community and schools, encouraging links with all.

As well as doing all this, reading and carving stone are two of my favourite hobbies!
