Rotarians donate to help pupils enjoy the viola

Children at Wilton and Barford are benefitting from a generous donation of £1000 from Wilton Rotarians. On Wednesday 23rd November Mr Richard Corey and Dr Heeley presented a cheque towards the cost of purchasing new violas.

Over previous years Wilton Rotarians have supported the school in their drive and ambition to ensure that all children leave the school able to read music and play two musical instruments.  Currently all children in Years 2 and 3 learn to play the recorder and children in Year 4 progress onto the fife. This year, children in Year 5 and 6 are learning to play the viola and have made excellent progress.

This term children have performed a viola concert to the rest of the school, who were all really impressed at their growing skills. We are looking forward to seeing their progress over the rest of the year.
