Praise for Retiring Chapmanslade Head

by Michael Ford last modified 29 Aug, 2014 02:50 PM

Chair of governors Tessa Kline recently spoke in glowing terms about Joss Jewell, head of Chapmanslade CE VA Primary School for 10 years.

Mrs Kline has children at the school. Text below:

"I am sure that I am not alone in finding as a new parent bringing your ‘baby’ to school for the first time is a huge milestone in your life.

"You are desperate to hand over your child to someone you trust and is that reassuring person that your child will be loved and looked after.

"In Joss Jewell, I’ve never met someone with such a clear understanding of the way a child’s mind works. She has an amazing insight into what makes a five year old ‘tick’.

"As a governor for eight years, and chair for two, I’ve worked with Joss for a long time. Joss has a vision for this school which is based on her deep understanding and love of children.

"We hear a lot about ‘fads’ in education. For Joss, she knows what works, caring for the children.

"Her legacy is a school where every child is treated as an individual and this level of care is recognised by OFSTED as outstanding.

"And to Joss herself: - as she begins her retirement I would like to quote back to her what she teaches the children:

“Remember, something incredibly wonderful is always possible.”

"It has been here, thanks to you Joss."
