Star Singers at St James' School

Children in Wimborne are hitting the high notes again with their very own version of Band Aid’s ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’

For the past few weeks, children at the outstanding First School in Gaunts Common have been busy rehearsing and auditioning for parts in the song, made famous 30 years ago.

Mr Glover from Queen Elizabeth School, along with some of his talented students, has been the driving force behind the project which has excited and enthused St James’ young learners.

Headteacher Mrs Booth enthused, “The whole process has been an amazing experience for the children and we are overjoyed with our finished recording.”

In keeping with the tradition of the song, St James’ version has been recorded for charity and the profit will be shared between Julia’s House (QE’s charity of choice) and Cancer Research (St James’ chosen charity).

St James’ school councillors are appealing to the wider public to help them reach their goal of selling 150 MP3 downloads. If you are looking for a novel charity gift idea, why not click here to download St James’ special song from iTunes? You will make a lot of children very happy!
