PSA- Footprints in the Sand

The Partnership Service Agreement (PSA) is a proven successful tool for building transformational relationships between schools, academies, MATS, wider educational partners and the DBE. The 2018/19 PSA continues this relationship with much of the work being centred around the new SIAMS Framework (Sept 2018 onwards) and the Church of England Vision for Education, ‘Deeply Christian; Serving The Common Good’.

The PSA is a subscription service and, in 2018-2019, your subscription of £575+VAT will give you the support of 5 key strands:

PSA_Subscription Entitlement_

  1. Three Hour School-based Adviser Visit: designed to support, challenge and meet the current needs of the school, for example SIAMS desk top review, or focussed school self-evaluation discussion/ work. You are invited to help plan this visit so that it fully meets your school's needs.
  2. RE & CW Leader Programmes: a local CPD programme for RE Leaders and a local CPD programme for Collective Worship Leaders. The focus here in 2018-2019 will be the new SIAMS Inspection Framework.
  3. New Headteacher Programme: a training and support programme for all Headteachers new to post
      Individual visit to the school by a diocesan School Improvement Adviser, framed around areas for development identified at interview and around deepening new Heads' understanding of leading a church school today.
      Two half days' central CPD. Those who have taken up this PSA offer have all commented on the focussed nature and positive impact of the training. Typical feedback has been, "I would like to thank the diocesan School Improvement Advisers for one of the most helpful and calm training days away from school. I really appreciate the time, space and efforts of the day."
  4. Foundation Governor Programme: training and support for all new (or those who wish to refresh) Foundation Governors of schools and academies, plus Foundations Trustees and Foundation Members.
      Recognising the vital importance of strong governance in successful schools, the SDBE has a clear policies and associated paperwork for the appointment of foundation governors.
      All schools must adhere to this policy in the appointment of Foundation Governors.
      A core part of this policy is that all new foundation governors – and foundation governors beginning a further term of office – must attend a training course, led by SDBE officers, which focuses on the role and responsibilities of foundation governance.  This training supports governors in ensuring that the distinctive Christian ethos of schools is cherished, developed and helps to transform the opportunities for children and young people
  5. Discounted Bespoke School Support, CPD Programme and Academy Conversion: a discounted menu of bespoke school support, CPD programme and academy conversion fee through the purchase of credits.
