"We cannot recommend our diocesan Challenge and Support Partner highly enough. Our Challenge and Support Partner gives the advice straight but with heart." (Chair of Governors and Head Teacher)

Explanation of this aspect of our work

An offer which schools are finding very beneficial in raising standards is that SDBE advisers also serve as Challenge and Support Partners, providing school improvement partner services through a package of visits. As Challenge and Support Partners we work with schools in:

  • Reviewing and analysing data
  • Undertaking a challenge and support role for bespoke aspects of school improvement
  • Advising governors about the headteacher’s performance management
  • Quality assuring school self-evaluation

What schools particularly value is that the CASP team is able to combine its school improvement focus with its church school distinctiveness knowledge when delivering this work.

BASIC CASP PROGRAMME

The CASP programme complements our existing strong working relationship with schools and academies, further enhancing and building on the work already in place, leading to effective and deeply Christian church school practice.

“Our school would most certainly not have been judged so well in our OFSTED inspection if it was not for you. Thank you”

The DBE recognises that this support and challenge package needs to be as cost effective as possible for schools and has worked to keep costs as low as possible.

“It is clear that the involvement of the Diocesan Challenge and Support Partner has been seen as critical in supporting successful school improvement”

Cost for basic 2018-2019 programme is 23 credits.
