Throughout the diocese on Easter Day, our churches came together to celebrate the risen Jesus.
The Church of Weymouth and Portland in Action (a mixed group of churches in Weymouth and Portland) celebrated with an Easter Sunrise Service hosted by St John's Church, Weymouth (pictured).
In St James Trowbridge, four baptisms and seven confirmations took place. Bishop Andrew joined the service, and the Revd Jake said it was an absolute blessing to baptise and confirm members of the congregation. See definitions of confirmation, baptism and Easter, plus photos here.
West Purbeck benefice, made up of seven churches, celebrated early Easter Sunday morning on Lulworth Cove beach. The benefice said it was "Fabulous to be joined by so many for this joyful day of newness, life, celebration (and of course mini eggs!)." See photos here.
Also in the West Purbeck benefice, the Holy Rood, Wool Church, hosted an Easter Vigil with support from a team of young actors who brought much joy and many giggles as they shared drama, stories, and readings with the congregation. See photos here.
