Introducing the Nurturing Courageous Christian Leadership programme

A new leadership programme to support leaders to flourish in the Diocese has been launched, with its first two cohorts announced.

The programme, called Nurturing Courageous Christian Leadership, is a key strand in developing and supporting courageous leaders, which is part of our Making Jesus Known vision.

The first two cohorts, of six members each, are for rural deans and one for new women incumbents. A further cohort of lay and ordained people is in formation.

The programme is being funded by the DBF as part of its investment in supporting and growing leaders.

Each NCCL cohort will be supported by, and meet regularly with, a facilitator for up to 18 months, as well as having access to a wide range of development support.

If you would like to be involved in future cohorts, contact the Revd Canon Andy Perry, Dean of Leadership and Church Growth. He said: “This is such exciting news and a real step forward in our commitment to grow courageous Christian leaders. We are committed to supporting leaders, in whatever role God has called them to serve, ensuring they can flourish and grow, and in turn grow new disciples.”

The diocesan commitment to nurture leaders is also underlined in work to develop the Continuing Ministerial Development programme for all clergy,  and training and support for people in lay and volunteer roles.
