On Wednesday 8 July, 150 clergy from across the diocese came together for our annual Clergy Day, hosted by Bishop Karen.
An update regarding the Rt Revd Stephen Lake
Rt Revd Karen Gorham, Acting Bishop of Salisbury, became the first woman bishop to lead ordinations in Salisbury Cathedral’s 800-year history on 27/28 June as six new deacons and seven new priests were ordained to serve communities across Wiltshire, Dorset and the Channel Islands.
Opening your church as a cool, welcoming space!
On Thursday 18 June, the Archbishop of Canterbury made a public apology on behalf of the Church of England for its role in historical adoption practices in mother and baby homes affiliated to the Church.
On Sunday 7 June, the Sudan Medical Link Summer fete raised over £10,000! This year, the Fete took place in the grounds of Salisbury Cathedral School, and those who braved the grey weather enjoyed listening to and watching performances.
On Friday 5 June, the first Volunteers Day organised by the DBF sought to celebrate and support volunteers and those who serve so faithfully in our parish churches. More than 80 people attended.
This week, more than 2,000 pupils from across the diocese have taken part in the Salisbury Diocesan Board of Education primary school leavers’ service at Salisbury Cathedral.
A new leadership programme to support leaders to flourish in the Diocese has been launched, with its first two cohorts announced.
