The Watercombe Benefice - Half-Time Priest in Charge

by Vicky James last modified 05 May, 2022 03:39 PM

Lying to the south east of the County Town of Dorchester, and including a short section of the Jurassic coast, Watercombe Benefice is placed in a popular part of Dorset.

The Diocese of Salisbury

We are four parishes and five churches serving four Dorset villages and are committed communities welcoming to newcomers and visitors; we are faithful congregations, with good community links and a commitment to pray, serve and grow.

We seek a priest-in-charge (Sunday plus three days) who is visible, accessible and approachable, who will help us serve our communities, and reach out to the visitors and pilgrims who come to enjoy this beautiful part of the country. We value the traditional, however are not afraid of innovation.

We offer a committed team of laity, neighbouring colleagues eager to work with the new priest-in-charge to discern new patterns of ministry, and a vibrant covenant with the local Methodist church. The modern rectory sits in the heart of Broadmayne village. This post will suit a priest of any age looking for part-time and flexible working.
