A musical visit to Guernsey

The recent union of the two Channel Island deaneries to the Diocese of Salisbury is beginning to bear fruit. Guernsey is delighted to welcome the Salisbury Cathedral Choir to the deanery this week, and wish them well on their onwards travels to Jersey.

The Dean of Guernsey, the Very Revd Tim Barker, said: "Guernsey is blessed with many talented musicians, younger and older, with a wonderful range of concerts. But there’s always a warm welcome for different styles of music. So it’s a great joy to hear the thrilling sound of the Cathedral Choir, whether at Choral Evensong in the country parish church of St Pierre du Bois or a concert in the Town Church.

"I am delighted to welcome the Cathedral Choir to Guernsey. They are a powerful visible (and audible) sign of the new relationship with the diocese. I hope that they will enjoy their time in Guernsey and Jersey, and that this will be the first of many group visits - in both directions."
