Coronation service sermons by Bishop Andrew and Bishop Karen

The Coronation service illustrated the "local holiness" sitting at the heart of our Constitution, Bishop Andrew said in his sermon at Salisbury Cathedral's Coronation celebration service on Sunday 7 May.

"Despite all that assails and divides us, occasions like this recall us to perhaps the brightest jewel in its crown – an idea older and more perfect than the Augustine Gospels, but contained therein, which is simply this: 'The greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like one who serves'."

Bishop Karen preached at the Sherborne Abbey celebration, praying that the new King and Queen "will be both blessed and a blessing". Read her sermon.
